Press Release:

Groups of fifty small businesses and nonprofits working together to revolve Twenty-four Million dollars through the community.



 

Project (News-Story):

The Horry County Community Development Fund, is now raising twenty-four million dollars, to construct six community building projects and fund a coalition of fifty small businesses and nonprofits who are dedicated to using the CBN platforms to serve the community.


The Carolina Business to Business Membership and the $10,000 Pitch Competition provides the communication, fundraising platforms and services to generate the twenty-four million dollars for the Horry County Community Develop Fund.

PURPOSE OF THE PRESS RELEASE

  1. To Invite Small Business Owners and Nonprofits:

    1. To apply for the funding provided through the HC Community Development Fund.

    2. To make a presentation of their business or project at the B2B Networking Sessions.


  2. To Invite Corporations and Media:

    1. To Serve as a CBC Facilitator, Presenter or Judge at the B2B Networking Sessions.


  3. To Invite high school and college students to join the YES Student Production Teams (offered by the Carolilna Media Arts Center) for jobs, careers and hand-on training.




 

WHAT DO WE WANT FROM YOUR NEWSROOM (how can you help the community through this project)?

  1. To notify the Horry County Residents of the funding that is being worked-on to build these new centers and how the centers will serve all residents and what residents and communities can do towards the projects.

  2. To notify the Small Businesses and Nonprofits in the County how they can acquire and benefit from the funds generated through these projects.

  3. To Attend and report-on the Networking Events on March 3rd and 4th. To alert your viewers and listeners on what the public and the participants are saying about these six projects.

Purpose of the event:

  • To provide a weekly event to communicate and fund the Horry County Community Development Fund.

  • To unite and bring the corporate and small business community together.




 

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

  1. Individuals are invited to Participate in the B2B Networking Sessions as a presenter, facilitator, judge, prize sponsor or vendor.

  2. Media, Corporations, Elected Officials, Small Businesses and Nonprofits are invited to present their products or projects to this group of local business owners and community leaders.

About the $10,000 Pitch Competition

  • ​​Starts March 3rd, 2025

  • Registrations Open February 1, 2025

  • 50 pitches/month – 15/week – 2.5 minutes each

  • Finals held on the 4th Monday & Tuesday of each month.

  • Eliminations on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Monday & Tuesday.


The Pitch Competition is a promotional event purposed to register members for the Two Million Dollar Funding Solutions Campaign. The Competition officially starts after all 50 slots for each month are filled (see registration). All registering participants receive an option for funding and media services through the Two Million Dollar Funding-Solutions Campaign.

Who Funds the Competition?

Registration fees, advertising contracts, prize sponsors and corporate-acquisition fees funds the contest each month.


Definition

The $10,000 Pitch Competition (Hereafter "pitch competition") is designed for small business owners who want to improve their presentation and selling skills. Participants will receive valuable media, business, insights and guidance from the B2B mentors and industry experts, ensuring they are well-prepared to deliver a compelling pitch for this event and prospective customers and investors.


Registration and Event Process

  • All participants qualify to receive the $1,500 to $10,000 in funding when they register.

  • The Competition Officially Starts after fifty contestants has registered and paid their fees.

  • Contestants will prepare and begin rehearsing their presentations immediately after they register.

  • Creative, Business and Production services are provided to all registered contestants while they wait for all fifty contestants to register so that the official start date can be announced. Contestant's Registration fees pay for the consulting time and production of their Pitch Presentation. Contestants must join the B2B Membership, Directory and use the communication platforms to receive the production services that are provided by the Carolina Media Arts Center.


JUDGING CRITERIA

Judge by: business owners, financial companies, media and business service-providers.

  1. The judges will evaluate your pitch on the following criteria:

  2. Great presentation

  3. Great brand identification

  4. Great product/service

  5. Fully thought-out business plan for success

  6. A clear pathway to scalability and growth

  7. Product/service is unique and viable to the market

  8. Sustainability/environmental/ social impact, if applicable

  9. Financial results
